Seddons choose Pindar Creative to automate their website pricing updates

Seddons (Plant & Engineers) Ltd has established a reputation for excellent service since 1951 to the plant and tool hire, construction and groundcare industries. They are manufacturers as well as distributors of a full range of equipment, parts and engines from nationally and internationally known manufacturers such as Honda, Stihl, Volvo, Ausa, Seddon Johnson, JCB, Belle, Winget, Taskman and many more.
Seddons Plant & Engineers has a turnover in excess of £20m and employ over 100 staff from 8 branch locations in Scotland, W.Yorkshire, North West, Staffordshire, E.Midlands, W.Midlands, Warwickshire, South East
Due to the nature of the market that Seddons operate in, product parts prices are forever fluctuating. In order to update prices on the website Seddons would export a file from their back office system and then manually alter the prices on-line. This manual process could take someone up to 3 days and so was only undertaken every 4 to 8 weeks which could potentially result in lost revenue for the business.
Seddons consulted with Pindar Creative and asked them to assess this updating process to see if improvements could be made. Pindar Creative suggested an automated approach and subsequently developed a script where the price file from the back office system is dropped in to a folder and the prices are then automatically up dated on the fly in to the website.

Phase 2 (new products)
Pindar Creative are now working on phase 2 of this project, this will enable Seddons to automate the introduction of new products to the website via exports from the back office system and new image uploads.
